Good luck to all entrants in the Staffordshire Sentinel "Win a Dream Wedding" competition. .

I am delighted to be involved in the competion and voting starts this week so good luck to the 180 couples that are entered and I hope to meet some of you at the judging event on 18th June 09.

Been a very busy week here! 3 wedding and 2 birthdays. Very best wishes for the future to our bride and grooms'.

This is one of the new designs added to the wedding collection this week. I love the colour scheme, hot pink and black!

This weekend's wedding cake

For the past couple of years , on this particular weekend I am normally exhibiting in the Wedding Cake Show Room at the Squires Kitchen Annual Exhibition in Farnham Surrey.

This year I was unable to exhibit due to existing bookings but I am happy with the final design an impressive 4 tier with intricate piped and brush embroidery detail.

This weekend marks the start of another busy wedding season with over 70 weddings to date.

Keeps me out of mischief LOL!

The Studio

Autumn 2008 we were very excited to announce the launch of our new studio on Wolstanton, Newcastle Under Lyme. This now allowed me to have a permanent display of around 10 wedding cake for prospective bride and grooms to view, together with a dedicated studio for private consultations.

Hi and welcome to my blog!

The "Authenticake blogspot" just gives a little more insight into the business, what we are currently up to and a little bit about me. I am also on Facebook, so if you are a Facebook fan please stop by and say hello!

Clients often ask me how long I have been decorating cakes? The answer is a long time! I first got into cake decorating approximately 15 years ago, intitially as a hobby for family and friends. For several years I had been bouncing around the idea and researching setting up a business specialising in wedding cakes.

In 2004 I took that big step and launched Authenticake, initially from our home based in Newcastle Under Lyme in Staffordshire. At the time a very big decision to give up full time employment but one I do not regret for one minute!

Five years on we are now firmly established in the Staffordshire & Cheshire wedding market and this year sees our 300th wedding cake! We strictly limit the number of bookings per week to allow maximum attention to our designs, and this year we currently have over 70 bookings.

The business and the website are both run by myself . I gained level 2 NCFE in cake decorating and have completed numerous courses in sugar flowers, figurine modelling & chocolate work.

In the background there is a great deal of background of family and friend support to which I am hugely grateful! They have played a large part in achieving where we are today.
